Most ceiling cooker hoods or extractors will require a drop down box from the ceiling to be able to house the main body and motor of the hood. Our removable motor kit allows you to relocate the motor to a more convenient location of your choice in the house, like a loft space or utility room, should you have any difficulties in fitting your ceiling hood.

The motor is removed and installed separately from the body of the hood elsewhere. This allows the added benefit of reducing the height of your drop down box section or bulkhead, because you won’t have your motor unit attached to the top of it.  

The removable inline motor kit can only be used with our (BR) Brushless Motor version of the Celux, Mille or Soffitto ceiling hoods (please see below list). Previous models will not fit or work with this current removable motor kit. For Slimline (SM) models please see INLINE-MOTOR-KIT-SM-BR

These hoods must be installed on minimum 6" / 150mm round ducting or rectangular equivalent. Our equivalent ducting is 220mm x 90mm. This will allow for the highest extraction rate possible for the you and help aid in reducing noise from the motor.

This inline motor kit will consist of:

• A blanking plate to fit to the hood body
• A blanking plate to fit on motor box
• A wall / joist mountable fixing to situate the motor box
• 1 x 5m Extension Cable

Install Insructions

• Locate where the motor will need to be secured and ensure ducting is in place
• Remove the motor from the hood
• Attach the motor plate to the motor box
• Attach the wall / joist fixing to the motor 
• Secure motor in required location
• Attach the blanking plate in place where the motor was located on the hood
• Run ducting from the hood to the motor
• Run ducting from the motor to the outside vent
• Install the hood and connect the ducting you have already installed
