Cooker Hood Capacitor

Function:

The capacitor, often a "start capacitor" or "run capacitor", stores electrical energy and releases it to help the motor spin up when the cooker hood is switched on. 

Why it's needed:

AC fan motors, commonly used in vent hoods, rely on a capacitor to initiate and maintain their operation. 

Troubleshooting:

If the cooker hood fan won't start, a faulty capacitor is a common cause. 

Types:

There are different types of capacitors, including "start capacitors" and "run capacitors," both playing a role in the motor's operation. 

Location:

Capacitors are often integrated into an assembly with the fan blade, motor, and transformer, making them less easily accessible for DIY repairs.
