Cooker Hood Plasma Filters
If your cooker hood recirculates air back into the kitchen rather than venting it outside, a plasma filter is the most effective upgrade you can make to how that air is cleaned. Unlike a standard charcoal filter, which physically traps odours in activated carbon until it becomes saturated and needs replacing, a plasma filter uses an electronically generated ionising field to break down cooking odours, smoke, grease particles and airborne impurities as air passes through it — without a consumable cartridge that needs buying every few months.
This makes plasma filtration especially suited to kitchens where external ducting isn't possible: airtight new-builds, apartments, listed buildings, or any installation where running ducting through an outside wall isn't practical. The cooker hood still draws air up through its metal grease filters as normal — the plasma filter simply replaces the charcoal stage, treating the air before it's returned to the room.
Every unit fits onto the motor outlet housing behind the chimney section, with a reducer collar included so the same filter fits both 150mm and 125mm round outlets — making it a genuine universal fit across recirculating cooker hoods, not just Luxair models.

Savings & Benefits
Save an estimated £465 over 10 years by switching from charcoal to a one-off plasma filter, no more repeat purchases every 3–4 months!
A charcoal filter is cheap to buy once, but every replacement is a repeat purchase, indefinitely, for as long as you own the hood. A plasma filter costs more initially but is designed to be a single purchase for the working life of most cooker hoods.
A Charcoal Filter saturates and needs replacing every 3–4 months, Our Plasma Filters on average are designed to last up to 10 years!
A note on inflation: The average charcoal filter cost saving is today's pricing. Charcoal filter prices are likely to rise over time in line with general inflation, whereas the plasma filter is a one-off cost that's already fixed!
This means the real-world saving from switching to plasma will typically be larger than the flat calculation above suggests, and it grows the longer you own the hood.
