150mm × 70mm Flat Ducting Pipe — 1 Metre
This is the standard 1 metre straight section of 150mm × 70mm flat rectangular ducting pipe, suitable for cooker hood installations with motor speeds up to 750m³/hr. It is part of the Luxair 5" push-fit airtight ducting system.
Why Flat Rigid Ducting Outperforms Flexible Aluminium Pipe
Rigid flat ducting is significantly more efficient than flexible aluminium pipe. Flexible aluminium tube has a corrugated interior surface that creates turbulence and resistance in the airflow, reducing extraction performance — particularly over longer duct runs. The smooth interior walls of rigid flat ducting allow air to travel freely with minimal resistance, delivering consistently higher extraction rates from the same motor. Luxair recommends rigid flat ducting for all ceiling extractor hoods and all extractors with a minimum motor speed of 350m³/hr.
The 5" Push-Fit System
This pipe is part of the Luxair 125mm (5") push-fit airtight ducting range. The system combines 150mm × 70mm flat rectangular ducting and 125mm round ducting — both formats carry equivalent airflow rates and are fully interchangeable within the system. All components connect by push-fit for a patent-protected airtight seal with no ducting tape, adhesive, or clips required. Suitable for kitchen, bathroom, and utility room extract systems, as well as whole-house ventilation installations. The full range includes bends, elbows, adapters, and wall outlets to complete any standard ducting installation.

- Below 450m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
- 450–750m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
- 750–2,000m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
