This connector joins two 200mm 1. mtr round rigid ducting sections together on a straight duct run, extending the run beyond a single pipe length. It is part of the Luxair 8" ducting range for high-power extraction systems.
Important — Ducting Tape Required at All Joints
This connector is not self-sealing push-fit. Unlike the push fit components in the Luxair 125mm and 150mm ducting ranges, this 200mm connector requires ducting tape to be applied at both joints to ensure an airtight seal throughout the duct run. Failure to tape the joints will result in air leakage and reduced extraction performance.
200mm Ducting Is Required for High-Power Motors
Cooker hoods with motor ratings between 950m³/hr and 2,000m³/hr must be installed with 200mm (8") ducting to achieve full extraction performance and quiet operation. Using smaller diameter ducting on these motors increases operational noise and hood vibration. Always use 200mm ducting throughout the complete duct run on any hood rated above 950m³/hr.
Ducting Size Guide
Selecting the correct ducting diameter for your motor output ensures maximum extraction performance:
Below 450m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
450–750m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
750–2,000m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
✓ 200mm round ducting straight connector — joins two round rigid duct sections on a continuous straight run
✓ Ducting tape required at both joints — this connector is not self-sealing push-fit; tape is essential for an airtight seal
✓ Required for high-power motors — use with 200mm ducting on all hoods rated between 950m³/hr and 2,000m³/hr
✓ Note on appearance — connector may arrive in a different colour from image shown; all parts supplied are correct for the Luxair 200mm ducting range
✓ Suitable for kitchen, bathroom, utility room and whole-house extract systems
